Art tablets have always been a big part of digital art, with a range of different design elements, from the simple but well-made “sculpt” to the complex and intricate “painting”.
But it’s a question of what they’re actually doing.
This month, Engadgets looks at the optical illusion tablets that some artists are creating.
The first of these optical illusion artists is John Dvorak, an Australian-based photographer who has recently been making an artistic statement with his own optical illusion project, “Mystical Eye”, which was released last month.
“I don’t really see how the human eye can distinguish an image with two different colours,” Dvorac says.
“It’s just a question about what the camera sees.
“In the process, I’ve learnt so much about the human visual system, and I’ve also gained a lot of inspiration from different artists who have done similar things.””
So how does an artist create an optical effect? “

So how does an artist create an optical effect?
Dvorack first started with a cardboard image that he could use as a template.
He used it to create a “glossy” image that was “moulded” over time.
He then tried to apply the same technique to other images, and the result was a series of optical illusions that are all made out of a single image.
He says it took about six hours of work to complete the entire project.
The results aren’t entirely unlike the original image, but there are a few differences, including a higher resolution and more colours to work with.
Dvorak’s optical illusion is not a traditional “picture” because he’s using a computer to create it instead of a camera.
“In most cases, if you want to create an image you need a digital camera,” he says.
“If you are a professional photographer or an artist, you will have a computer with you.””
Dvorac also adds that an optical image is not necessarily better or worse than a picture, as it’s an illusion.””

Dvorac also adds that an optical image is not necessarily better or worse than a picture, as it’s an illusion.
“The most important thing to me is to make my visual image as good as possible,” he adds.
“But if I do make my image better than a good picture, then I do it because I like it and I think it looks good.”

Dvorack explains that he first started thinking about creating an optical illusions project when he noticed a trend in the art world where people were trying to make their images look like they’re moving, rather than looking like they were sitting still.
Dvorarac says the results are all very simple and “pretty boring”.””
He started experimenting with different images, then adding different textures to them, and finally using a projector to do some kind of optical illusion.

There’s no way to do a really complex optical illusion with a real person.
But with this project, there’s a whole lot of colour, and it’s just not too difficult.
“He says the project has also had an effect on his life.”
It’s made me realise that there’s so much more to being an artist than just making photographs.
I’ve realised that I need to be involved in making the work, and in doing that, I have an impact on the art community,” he explains.
